Application traffic generation

D-ITG, the Distributed Internet Traffic Generator: an open-source platform that generates IPv4 and IPv6 traffic at packet level, replicating inter-departure time and packet size processes.

D-ITG

D-ITG (Distributed Internet Traffic Generator) is a platform capable of producing traffic at packet level, accurately replicating the stochastic processes of both IDT (Inter Departure Time) and PS (Packet Size) random variables: exponential, uniform, cauchy, normal, pareto and more.

D-ITG supports both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic generation and can generate traffic at network, transport and application layer. It runs on Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, CentOS, OpenWRT), Windows, OSX and FreeBSD, and it is open-source and completely free.

Documentation, downloads, the manual and the full list of publications are on the D-ITG website.
